It's not an invariable rule. There is a rather good Indian
restaurant called Memsahib in Rockville, MD (off Boiling Brook
if anyone local is interested, next to Katz delicatessen). It
has very low tables, a very large fraction of Indian customers
and a monstrous screen showing Indian movies. They are sometimes
a bit noisy, since like most Indian movies the best description
is "musical", but fun to watch :-)
