how to do it with real rice

using a coffee mug put 1 measure of long grain rice and 2 measures of
water in a microwave safe container. Nuke on hign 15 minutes, stir, it
there is water left in the bottom of the container nuke in 1 minute
intervals until the water is absorbed (make note of time nuked for the
next time you cook rice). As microwaves vary in power the overall cooking
time can range anywhere from 18 to 22 minutes approx for your personal
microwave, but will stay constant once determined.

Optional stuff...add some celery seed, salt and pepper. a pinch of
crushed red pepper and a pat of butter. Salt added before cooking to the
rice really improves it flavour.

Variation: replace 1 measure water with chicken, beef or veggies stock or
even use fruit juice. Stir in a good handfull of frozen peas or a drained
small can of corn (or add both) just before serving.

serves 4-6 as a side dish.

Advantages real rice tastes better and is less processed so it is bound
to have better nutritional values.
