We've had a number of "pot luck" afternoons at my local dive (mostly wakes,
some holidays, fundraisers). There's another one coming and I'd like some
ideas on what to bring that is:

-- Substantial (entrée or heavy appetizers --- not dips, chips, rolls)

-- Not too expensive ($25 or so)

-- Easy to eat standing up in a crowded bar (plastic fork/paper plate)

-- Appropriate to serve without benefit of additional cooking or re-heating
(no oven, microwave, crock pot, sterno)

-- Easily made ahead of time

In the past I've brought large salads (Texas caviar, tabulleh, Super-bowl
Coleslaw, Chinese Chicken Salad), or fried chicken (25 pieces or so). Also,
crab/shrimp dips (looked insignificant) and a chile-chicken-tortilla
casserole (but it cooled too quickly).

It's seems like there should be a number of picnic or buffet items or
appetizers that would work.

Any suggestions? Thanks.
