You need to kill the Googlegroups domain, not the gmail email
addresses. Not everyone who posts through Google Groups posts
with a Gmail address, and not everyone who uses a Gmail email
address posts through Google Groups.

ALl you're doing is killfiling people who have a gmail address,
which is not the problem. The problem is people who post through
Google Groups.

Unfortunately your newsreader does not allow you to kikllfile
based on Message-ID - which is the header that absolutely
identifies Google Groups posters (and the spam). If you had a
better newsreader, you would also be able to "whitelist" those
regular/useful posters who posts through Google Groups.
