Actually there's a site called A Word A Day, and the website is
wordsmith.org. If you want to subscribe here's the link:
http://wordsmith.org/awad/subscriber.html

They send a different word with the definition to your email every
workday, and a short quotation. Usually the week's words are all part
of a theme. Sometimes the theme is no theme this week.
