Most deplorable, shameful even! And she says it is "a classic European
Jewish recipe", which is ridiculous, as it is very happily unknown in
Europe, except to those unlucky enough to have encountered it in
America, as you well know.
Also deplorable is her apparent use of crushed buckwheat grains instead
of whole kernels. Good buckwheat kasha can only be made with the
latter. It is hearty, down-to-earth Eastern-European peasant food and
shouldn't be adulterated by a fickle fuse with the fully foreign,
frivolous, flighty farfalle.
