My mother tried it a couple of times when we were kids and I tried it
once as an adult. It never worked the way it was shown on tv, (the
foil dome never expanded enough and there were a lot of unpopped
kernels). No stores in this area carry it any longer. Unless it's
improved drastically in the past 20 years, I consider it a waste of
money.

Has anyone had any luck with it lately?

I have 2 stovetop whirley poppers, small & large that I found in
thrift stores for $5 each. After trying just about every other popper
and method, these are by far the best.
