I thought that I had lucked out with a second machine. My mother had the
newer, larger Cuisinart ice cream maker and when we cleaned out her condo,
no one else was interested in it so I took it. I stuck the freezer bowl
into the freezer immediately. About a week later I made a batch of ice
cream base, let it cool overnight and the next morning I poured the base
into the new freezer bowl, assembled the rest of the parts and flipped the
switched. There was a humming sound, but no rotation. I hd to quickly
scrape out the custard and put it into my old freezer bowl and use the old
machine. The bowl has quite a bit higher capacity that the old machine and
the socket for the drive motor is larger so they are not interchangeable.
Dang!
